Review:
It had been a while since I played at this Boss Media powered casino, but having heard that they had recently made an upgrade to their software and introduced several new games, curiousity forced me to dig out my old account details. The download screen offers you the choice of either a 3MB lite version or the 38 MB full version I opted for the 3MB lite version and was then offered the choice of which games package I wanted – either the blackjack, video poker or slots. I found this a useful option as I mainly play slots and all too often I find casinos automatically install the table games which I seldom use. The new interface is clear and easy to use with tabs differentiating single player, multiplayer and practice games. One of the features I like with this software is the ability to switch between practice and real money play without switching accounts, as quite often I will try a few hands of a games with play money before risking my hard earned! There are also some nice touches on the new interface such as the jackpots tab which shows at a glance jackpots and the player messaging system. The cashier uses the Web Dollar system which I have never been a great fan of due to the pin number system it uses for withdrawals meaning that new players have to wait for their Web Dollar Pin Number to arrive via snail mail before requesting a withdrawal. I also found it irritating that as someone who rarely remembers to shut windows that the cashiers window needs to be manually shut before you can resume play after making a deposit. My main reason for downloading Pharoahs was to try out the new bonus games – however I was slightly disappointed with some of the features. For example several of the bonus games involve accumulating points in order to enter the bonus round – however these points don't carry over if you should leave the game. Therefore if your computer crashes or if you are disconnected for any reason then you will lose the points you have earned. Overall, in my opinion although Pharaohs are a reasonable casino, there are a few things however I would like to see addressed, such as the Pin Numbers and wiped points before I would put them on my favorite casino list.
